02 / PACKING & TRANSPORT
Protect the slabs. Prepare for transport.
Packing depends on the slabs, transport mode and unloading conditions.
Packing & loading checks
Suitable load-bearing frame or crate
Confirm against slab dimensions, thickness, weight and handling equipment.
Separators, edge and moisture protection
Prevent surface rubbing, edge impact, movement and tipping.
Payload, balance & securing plan
Packing and transport providers confirm the plan, referring to the CTU Code.
Weight records & loading evidence
VGM includes cargo, packing, securing materials and container tare; the shipper defined in transport documents is responsible for providing it.
Wood packaging compliance
Does the packing contain regulated solid wood?
Yes · Crates / pallets / dunnage
Compliant treatment & marking
Use compliant wood packing, verify IPPC marks and retain supplier records.
No · Entirely processed wood
Check exemption conditions
Confirm material and destination requirements; separately check any solid-wood fittings.
Edge protection, frames and moisture control are operating recommendations. Wood treatment, marking and applicable VGM need compliance checks.
03 / IMPORT PREPARATION
Prepare import documents before dispatch
Chinese export clearance is followed by destination-country import procedures.
- Classification
- Confirm the tariff code from material, manufacturing, use and processing, rather than the name “sintered stone” alone.
- Core documents
- Commercial invoice, packing list and transport documents; keep information consistent.
- Conditional records
- Provide permits, testing, compliance records and origin evidence as required locally.
- Preferential duty
- Check the agreement and origin rules. A Form E or other proof does not automatically mean duty-free entry.
- Import taxes
- Check duty, import taxes and applicable trade-remedy duties by destination, code, origin and declaration date; no universal rate applies.
DESTINATION CHECKLIST
Vietnam · Before dispatch
- Check whether the product falls under local building-material quality controls.
- Confirm current testing, certification and import quality procedures.
- Have the importer or local agent confirm the tariff code, taxes and document requirements.
DESTINATION CHECKLIST
Thailand · Before dispatch
- Prepare invoice, packing list and transport documents for the import declaration.
- Check permits for controlled goods and origin evidence when claiming preferential duty.
- Have the importer or local agent confirm product access, tariff code and applicable taxes.
These are verification checklists. Confirm applicability against the product and current rules.
